House of Pain – Part Two. Episode 023. House of Pain’s self-titled debut is three guys delivering the hip-hop goods.
“There Is A Light That Never Goes Out” is the perfect song to introduce someone to The Smiths with. Off 1986’s “The Queen Is Dead” this one is one of their best.
Since House of Pain only has one really good album of songs this Tuesday we spotlight Everlast’s pre-House of Pain project Rhyme Syndicate that Dan spoke of in the podcast. Let’s just say it’s a good thing that he went the H.O.P. route.
As evidenced by his appearance performing the song on ‘Muppets Tonight’, ‘Starfish & Coffee’ by Prince off of his 1987 has a child-like quality about it. But that doesn’t stop it from being awesome!
Detroit’s own Eminem is featured here at Dandy Classic Track of the Day for his outstanding “Stan” which is fan fiction-meet’s ‘Criminal Minds’-meet’s warning and is as good as hip-hop storytelling gets.
